Slovakia’s Statistical Office reports that the production of leather and leather products in Slovakia in the first five months of this year was 21.3% lower than in the same period in 2007. In comparison, industrial output in Slovakia in the January to May period this year was 7.3% higher year-on-year.

Manufacturers of leather and leather products in Slovakia recorded total receipts worth US$56.7 million in May, a year-on-year decrease of 18.8%.
