Ukraine’s State Statistics Committee reports that the production of leather and leather products in Ukraine in the first quarter of this year was 27.6% higher than in the same period in 2007. In comparison, industrial output in Ukraine in the first quarter of this year was 7.8% higher year-on-year. Ukraine has a number of large leather producers, including VOZKO in Voznesensk, which has a tanning capacity of around 400 million square decimetres of chrome leather a year.
